Project Breakdown: There were many ups and downs with this project, but we were able to overcome them, thankfully. The game is very simple, having one level/track that only requires you to finish before your friends to win, but it was very tricky to implement. We were lucky to have a member who already had experience with coding driving games so we had a little bit of an advantage. However, getting everything to work correctly on the PS5 was a little challenging. We had some issues with the wheels going crazy and also some drifting issues. When I was implementing the split screen it decided to not work for no reason at all. It was checked by our lecturer and he was also very confused. The problem was solved by simply resetting the game engine which was a little frustrating.
The frustrations were worth it because, in the end, we have a game that is compatible with the dual sense controller (gyro, haptic feedback and sound from the speakers), has character customisation, singleplayer (with AI), local multiplayer, split screen that splits 4 ways, cute level design and a fun racing game.
