Hello, today I'm going to discuss a little about the first world's boss that I am implementing this week. It is called whack a robot!
So whack a robot, is your average whack a mole game, but replaced with robots. The game is very straight forward, but slightly deviates from the normal whack a mole game. Reality runner is heavily inspired by new! super Mario bros on the ds, and it actually has a whack-a-mole game (whack-a-monty), that's where the original inspiration came from. However, the whack-a-mole game from Mario bro's is very straightforward. You hit the moles and as time goes by the amount of moles that spawn increases. As well as that, luigi also appears and if hit your score decreases by one.
Reality Runner's whack-a-robot game has three elements to it. You have the normal robot that you click once to destroy it, you have the boss robot that needs to be hit twice to be destroyed and then you have Ophelius, who is basically the Luigi for the game, but if you hit Ophelius even once, the game ends straight away. The game starts off with mostly the normal robot appearing, but as the game goes on the boss robot starts to appear and ophelius does too. The frequency of the normal robot is the highest, the boss robot the second highest and Ophelius is the least frequent, to not make the game too hard for the player. Control wise, the player uses their mouse to click on the 'moles' to hit them.
Whack-a-robot is about 90% done and should be working fully soon.
