Today we had a guest lecturer who delved into different types of sounds found in games (diegetic and non-diegetic). I was looking forward to this lecture in particular because I love making music and would definitely like to compose music for as many games as I can in the future. On top of that, sound design is one of my roles and I plan to make music for our game. We also learnt about cutscenes and some more about sound within cutscenes and so on. It was very interesting to learn as I'm interested in implementing cutscenes into my final year project and of course, our narrative game.
I also started to work on the initial storyboards for our story. We have a pitch coming up soon and we thought it would be nice to share the story using the storyboards. Storyboarding actually takes longer than it seems so I will be drawing in a very simple style, I'll probably do some flat colouring and maybe the smallest amount of detail, but nothing too crazy. I have drawn 3 scenes already and will continue to work on the rest up until the pitch. I also started thinking about the layout of the UI and possible buttons, menus, icons, etc we could have for our game. I was thinking of making a lace outline for the buttons to kind of fit in with Markus' mask, but I realised lace is kind of scandalous and can be interpreted in many ways so I'm going to go back to the drawing board.
We also decided that we would have our own characters in the game!! Since we need a ballroom filled with people and Zahra was going to be modelling people to fill the room she came up with the idea to include us as characters. She said my character could be playing the piano because Gina found some instrument assets. Zahra is going to be basing my model on a drawing I did a while back.

That's all I have to share for this week!
THANK YOU FOR READING <3!!!
