Welcome to the third week (blog) of our narrative project! This week we have been focusing on refining our story and planning our acts. We revisited "The Hero's Journey" which helped us to separate our narrative into three acts. We have yet to complete Act 3, but we have a brief idea of the direction we want it to go in.
This week we have written out Act 1 and Act 2 (and a little bit of Act 3) onto some cards we stuck them onto a wall to almost visualise the plans we had made the week prior. After doing that, we started to plan key story moments that could be turned into cutscenes and the gameplay around the story aspects. So far, we have three planned areas that need to be made: A mansion for Act 1 (a bit of Act 2 as well), an alleyway for Act 2 and an auction house for Act 3. (Rough plans pictured below)

In terms of gameplay, we have planned some sneaking gameplay for Act 1, where the protagonist sneaks through the mansion to avoid the guards. He will also discreetly take out the guards if he has no other choice. There will also be some sneak gameplay in Act 2, but the main gameplay is fighting the guards and escaping the mansion. For Act 3 the gameplay from Act 1 returns as the protagonist has to sneak through and take out guards to gain access to the auction house. After access is gained there will be the final boss battle with the antagonist, Lady Ophelia.
After we had the base ideas for our narrative and gameplay, we moved our cards online to Miro, where we continued to add, change and adjust our gameplay and narrative. OH!! We also came up with a name!! Zahra thought of a name including scarlet as that's the colour of the protagonists hair and I tagged viper onto the end, producing Scarlet Viper!!!
THAT IS ALL FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll be back next week with another update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BYE
